    US Immigration Protests

Protests are ongoing in the US over immigration tactics.

Where do you stand - for or against?

Do you think protests should happen?

This is one of those topics where it get's heated no matter what the spectrum you are on... In my personal opinion, and I don't want to politically charge anyone here BUT I think protests are totally acceptable. The first amendment allows protest and the right to gather. However I do not like extreme protests where it Obstructs everyone else's daily lives. Violence is not the answer or obstruction of justice. Yes, we all want due process. However it is clear that ICE is going after people who are here illegally committed crimes in the US firstly, they definitely need to be detained. Having said that however, I think ICE could loosen up on the snatching people where people are Anti ICE. I feel ICE needs to be more discreet in some ways. Arnold Schwarzenegger said it best in a interview recently... If you come here to the US, you are a guest. It's like if you go to someone's house, treat the host with the most upmost respect and keep it clean....

I just don't understand the "hate" for ICE. In every other country they do worse things to people and treat them like animals. But for some reason some groups are Justice Warriors for their own good, not the good for everyone. It's as if I commit a crime, people unknowingly of me defend me without knowing what I did putting their own livelihood on the line, and pretty much ruining their own lives for their arrogance.

I'm for the right to protest and against retaliating against those who protest.

However, if you're blocking traffic, breaking stuff, or being violent, you're no longer just protesting, you're protesting and committing a crime. Criminal activities should be dealt with.

If I can get charged for lighting a car on fire, breaking into a retail store, or blocking cars on the interstate when not protesting, then I should also be charged for doing those things when protesting.

Peaceful protesting is the only protesting I am for.
