DC Clean up and beyond?

What are your thoughts on DC being cleaned up with the help of the national guard? How do you feel the military being used to help law enforcement in 9 other states to help clean crime?

Some say it is an act of control by the administration others have expressed, except and especially locals think its an awesome thing that their beloved capitol is finally cleaned up. My personal opinion is that it's good, it needs to happen, I think at least every 8 years max. A complete purge of crime, drugs and garbage needs swept off the streets to keep normal commute bystanders feeling safe. Crossing my fingers they get to the west coast. LA, Portland, and Seattle needs cleaning too. Whenever I drive through Portland and if I don't have my conceal on me I feel very vulnerable. People get mugged or murdered in broad daylight.

Federal militias in states reminds me of what Armageddon probably looks like. It's making it even more difficult to trust our leaders.

How about creating laws that protects LE from criminals and lawsuits from them.

I understand your stance on this, and while I sort of agree that Military should not do the jobs of the police, it begs the question if the Major Cities around the US will start doing their jobs though... Like Portland for example, if protesters are going to be there (at the ICE building) every day and night but the police won't get involved when someone gets assaulted right outside the building then how are the citizens supposed to feel safe? Journalist, and not counter protesters are being assaulted just trying to cover the Protesters for news sake, not to indirectly agitate them.

As far as I am aware there are Pro's and Cons to such measurements to include military involvements. Too much, you suppress the will of the people, too less then crime gets way out of control. That balancing act will always come with a cost.
