NYC kills a man's pet squirrel and raccoon

Have you heard anything about this story?

The state Department of Environmental Conservation took the animals Wednesday from Longo’s home and animal sanctuary in rural Pine City, near the Pennsylvania border. The agency said it had gotten complaints that wildlife was being kept illegally and potentially unsafely.
Source: The man who took in orphaned Peanut the squirrel says it’s ‘surreal’ officials euthanized his pet

I used to think Dolly Parton being a national treasure was the only thing both sides agree on, until this. It was a massive overstep by the state government and a colossal waste of money and resources. It accomplished nothing other than causing paranoia and animosity.

Yeah. It was pretty bad. They pretty much entered his residence with armed law enforcement personnel. I'm not sure if guns were drawn. If they were, for a squirrel - all I have to say is wow.

It's a pretty sad deal. Sad for America's image, that's for sure.
